My dear M:-
I am sorry to hear of your situation at “the Lake”. Of course I am going to do for you
anything you have done. I should feel very much hurt to have you go elsewhere for anything I
could give you, and I will try to give it to you quickly if you will decide on just what you want to
do.
I had thought lately a number of times of running up to see you and I will gladly come
next week to stay a few days until we can settle your affairs. I go to Rochester and Buffalo
Sunday night to return here Thursday night or Friday morning and I could leave here Friday
night for Minneapolis and stay until I had you “fixed up” to your satisfaction.
I dislike to think of your being badly cut up again in your building schemes. Perhaps we
will have to draw lots and cast out Jonah. I fear I am Jonah-but I'll stick to you until I get you out
of trouble. Your family can have anything I’ve got if they want it.
With love to you all from cj.
